Blog updates
Every couple of years, I get bored of my existing blogging setup and make some changes to it. Now, I lasted 4 years on my previous server, but I got annoyed with my static site setup.
I've been thinking about this change for a long time. In the end, I didn't make that many changes:
- I'm still using Ghost to write posts, but I upgraded to a bigger server, which is actually cheaper, but from Hetzner instead of DigitalOcean.
- I'm using Ansible to automate the deployment (yeah, we'll see how that goes in 1 year).
- And instead of using a home baked Rust program to create a static copy, full of bugs, I'm using the Nginx proxy caching module to improve performance (we'll see what bugs this one has, because I fought it for a week to get it mostly right).
- I'll be sending the emails using the Ghost newsletter through Mailgun (I questioned many of my life choices while getting this working).
- I changed the theme I'm using, because I had customized too much the previous one and it got way behind upstream.
Probably the post segmentation into tech and personal posts will have some issues in the beginning. Please bear with me. But I don't write that many posts, so it won't be spammy anyway :)))
