Rise of the Tomb Raider

Rise of the Tomb Raider

I am a huge fan of the Tomb Raider series. I still remember playing Tomb Raider II for hours when I was little. So of course I bought the new one as soon as it came out. I bought it on Steam, because I don't even have a DVD reader in my computer. I was in the US at the time, but I couldn't wait to get home to play it. I arrived sometime at 10PM at home, among the first five things I did was to install it, look at the intro level and then I went to sleep. I was anxiously waiting for the continue.

Why Nations Fail

Why Nations Fail book

I finally finished this book. I bought it from one of the authors a year and a half ago. The book has seen some serious mileage in my hands, having been to the Belgium and to the US. But I finally managed to read all of it. Having a goal to read 28 books this year really helps focusing on this.

I enjoyed the book very much. I don't necessarily agree with the hypotheses that it presents, but it also provided a good history lesson for me. Apparently I had some big gaps in my knowledge of things that are 1) far from me 2) happened a long continue.

The Force Awakens

The Christmas party organized by Google in Zurich this year was... drumroll a private Star Wars: The Force Awakens screening. They rented out half of Arena Cinemas for half a day and they invited all Zooglers to watch the movie.

Normally I don't go to see movies in the first couple of weeks after they are released, because the cinemas are too crowded, but I couldn't miss such an occasion: a new Star Wars movie!!!!

In general, I enjoyed the movie. I left the cinema like, yeah, this was a good "reboot" of the series and I'm curious how this will continue. Of course, there were some bad continue.

Interstellar

On Saturday I went to see Interstellar. I had heard many opinions about it. Dodo was praising it to heavens. Some colleagues said it was boring and way too long. Other complained about the *spoiler*. Other said it was very good.

First let me describe the Swiss cinemas (gross overgeneralization, this being my first time in one). You have way more legroom, so you can actually sit comfortably and people can walk past you without you having to get up. A big surprise for me was that at the middle of the movie you have a 5-10 minute break, where you can go to the bathroom, stretch continue.

Burn Notice

Burn Notice e un alt serial de care m-am apucat recent (yes, I know, don't I ever get bored of starting new TV Shows?

In joc se poveste cum a ajuns CLU sa devina un tiran si cum a ramas Flynn blocat in The Grid. Toata povestea este vazuta din perspectiva unui System monitor, care nu vorbeste deloc in tot filmul (*wink*Master Chief*wink*) si este numit corespunzator: Anon (desi nu i se mentioneaza numele in joc, doar la extras).

Abraxas, unul din antagonisti

Povestea incepe cu sosirea unui System Monitor nou in Tron City. Aici el intalneste pentru prima oara un virus care infecteaza programele transformandu-le in chestii galbene. Cand soseste Kevin Flynn, el este prins de CLU, care este System Administrator. continue.
